Fissure was Commissioned for Brooks Running Shoe company in Seattle, WA
Fissure seeks to foster a living relationship between Stone 34 and its occupants. The growth of golden foliage is in practice a visual analog of an environmental data point. Each of the 82 flowers bloom or close in time with the energy usage of the building. As Stone 34 reaches its energy goals Fissure will slowly blossom, creating a real time barometer for the energy consumption of the building. It is my hope that the occupants of this building will be able to observe Fissure and modulate their behavior with the intent of creating a more sustainable environment here and at home.
