Piaculum

a victim, sacrifice, atonement

I've been searching for a metaphor that can sum up the entirety of my interests. They lay somewhere between stars and bones, summoning the great and small triumphs of unanswered questions. I have found a structure to these ideas, a visual way to hold and foster them. In the heart of each piece is found the psychological relationships we project into nature and its phenomena. From celestial bodies to studies in animal/botanical motion, the roles we create for these mysteries color our actions and shade our doubts. They define our societies and delve into the desires and fears we attribute to the body and its cultural prosthetics. I believe there is a deep order and symmetry to the seemingly chaotic flow of life.
